Champagne Yves Jacques – Brut Rosé

Guide VERON des Champagnes 2012

(around 14 euros per bottle)

The Jacques family who settled in BAYE has been growing the 3 grape varieties on a 17 hectares vineyard since 1932 and this in compliance with the Champagne tradition.

Its presentation is traditional and elegant.

Appearance :

  • Lively and salmon-pink colour
  • Limpid and brilliant
  • Fine bubbles.

Aroma :

  • Intense, happy and open with a dominant characteristic of fresh red fruits (strawberry, raspberry, blackcurrant,…), expression of the 12 % of red wines exclusively originated from Pinot Meunier, and of its maceration perfectly mastered by Rémy Jacques, the Cellar Chief
  • Delicate overtones of fresh citrus (lemon, grapefruit, Clementine) which are the result of the 20 % of Chardonnay.

Taste :

  • Precise attack, quickly replaced by a nice roundness
  • One can find back the red fruits in harmony with the nose
  • Nice roundness obtained thanks to the  40 % of Pinot Noir and 40 % of Pinot Meunier
  • Deliciously acidulous finale
  • Nice length on the palate.

This Brut Rosé Champagne can be qualified as entertaining. It discloses all the qualities of the traditional Rosé Champagne with the Cuvée blending of white and red wines.

To be served with the aperitif or to go with a red fruits dessert.
