Guide VERON des Champagnes 2012
(around
34 euros per bottle)
The House Jacquesson which was founded in 1798
in Châlons en Champagne comes back to the heart of its vineyard in 1974 through
the impetus given by the family Chiquet.
The name of this Champagne is secretive. Its
presentation is sober and careful. Its cap is original.
Appearance :
- Light golden yellow
- Fine bubbles
- Refined Cordon
Aroma :
- First nose of an outstanding strength,
translation of the optimal maturity of the grapes of the Premiers and
Grands Crus of the Great Valley of the Marne and of the Côte des Blancs
- Aroma of ripe red fruits, expression of the 20% of Pinot Noir and
of the 26% of Pinot Meunier
- Oakiness with a delicate touch of vanilla, result of a vinification
in wooden tun
- Patience is rewarded by the appearance of overtones of subtly
toasted butter and caramel.
Taste :
- Lively attack –which reflects the 54% of Chardonnay- on minerality
supported by a dynamic sparkling
- The mouth then discloses a singular and fleshly vinosity on roasted
coffee and cocoa which express an ageing with regular stirring of the lees in a wooden tun
- Never ending finale, deliciously mineral and slightly acid, delicately peppered with tinges of green apple and grapefruit.
This blending n°734 expresses an
asserted and consistent personality depicted by the Vintage 2006 from which it
stems at 73%. It is a great reward for the rigorous viticulture firmly oriented
towards the soils expression and compliant with the environmental values which are
led by Jean-Hervé and Laurent Choquet.
To be served for the aperitif but also along the meal together with fish, seafood or even some poultry.
