Guide VERON des Champagnes 2012
(around
35 euros per bottle)
The Canard-Duchêne Champagne, located in Ludes,
in the heart of the Reimps Mountain has been integrated to the Thiénot Group
since 2003. It has been carrying the Champagne tradition since 1860.
This blending was created for the
centenary of the House to pay homage to the King Charles the VII who was
crowned in 1429 in the Reims Cathedral under the leadership of Jeanne d’Arc. The flask is original and luxurious.
Appearance :
- Light yellow with green
reflections
- Fine, numerous and festive
bubbles
- Refined and persistent Cordon.
Aroma :
- Gorgeous nose of Chardonnay, all in sharpness and elegance which
brings straightaway a great pleasure, expression of a strict selection of
the best soils, namely in the Côte des Blancs
- Pleasant citrus fragrance supported by subtle tinges of white flowers, butter and hazelnut.
Taste :
- Frank and refreshing attack thanks to a judicious dosage (10 g/L of
sugar added during the disgorging)
- The mouth then discloses an ample and sensuous roundness, almost
creamy
- Finale slightly acid on citrus consistent with the nose
- Good length on the palate.
With this Charles VII Great Blending
Blanc de Blancs Champagne, Laurent Fédou conveys a great image of the House
Canard-Duchêne of which he is the Cellar Master but also of the Chardonnay.
Ideal for the aperitif, it will happily accompany your starters and seafood dishes.
