Guide VERON des Champagnes 2013
(about 20 € a
bottle)
Brand of
the cooperative cellar of Janvry-Germigny, the Champagne Prestige des Sacres relies on
a vineyard of 120 hectares spread over the Saint Thierry massif, the Reims
mounts and the Reims mountain, planted with the three Champagne varietals
(Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier), farmed by 160 wine growers to make
and market about 750,000 bottles of quality Champagne every year.
Festive and original packaging.
Appearance
:
·
Golden colour,
intense
·
Delicate and
numerous bubbles
·
Fine and
long-lasting cordon
·
Translucent
Nose:
·
Open nose, source of genuine pleasure, thanks to the
rigorous respect of a period of 6 months between the disgorgement of the
bottles and their marketing
·
Red fruits dominate, on raspberry, blackcurrant,
strawberry and kirsch aromas; beautiful expression of the 50% of Pinot Noir
·
Later on, the nose reveals mild touches of brioche,
pastry, caramel, chocolate and moka, result of a long ageing on laths, with
autolysis of the yeasts, before disgorgement
Palate:
·
Well-balanced, round, creamy, nearly silky thanks to a
judicious fulfillment of the malolactic fermentation
·
Great density, reinforced by a well-distributed
sparkling
·
Elegant hints of apple and pear thanks to the 50% of
Chardonnay, accompanied with delicate spices (pepper and cinnamon)
·
Delicious tangy finish, thanks to the rigorous
selection of the first juices (cuvée) during the pressing of the grapes
· Good length in the mouth
With this
cuvée Grenat Brut 2006, Jean-Christophe Lenfant, Champagne Prestige des Sacres'
cellar master, offers us a highly expressive Champagne, very well-balanced,
beautiful interpretation of the terroir of the Reims mounts and moutain.
Even if it
is perfect for an aperitif, it will marvelllously accompany festive meals, with
poultry like a farm capon filled with figs and foie gras.
