Guide VERON des Champagnes 2013
(around 18 Euros per bottle)
Located in Verzy, in the heart of the Mountains of Reims, the Champagne House of Mouzon-Leroux cultivates around 10 hectares of vineyard using an environmentally friendly approach, essentially divided across four terroir classified as Premiers Cru and Grands Cru: Verzy, Verzenay, Ludes and Villers-Marmery. At present, 20% of the land is being converted to organic and biodynamic viticulture and will soon give origin to a new cuvée: "La première terre".
An elegant and luxurious look.

Bright
Nose :
·
Elegant and complex, delivering delicious sensations

The fresh citrus fruits (lemon, grapefruit) and hazelnut,
expressed by the 60% Chardonnay, delicately mingle with scents of candied plum,
cherry and blackcurrant, expressed by the 40% Pinot Noir blended in the cuvée

obtained with yeast autolysis of the second alcoholic fermentation during
ageing sur lattes

Clean and deliciously mineral attack, intensified by the
timely stop of the malolactic fermentation of the base wines, there throughout
tasting, swiftly reached by a creamy roundness

The citrus fruits can be singled out, bolstered by
subtle spicy notes
·
Good length on the palate
