Situated in Le Breuil since 1921, the Champagne
House of Jean Moutardier passionately cultivates 18 hectares of vineyard in the
Surmelin Valley, consisting of 14 hectares of Pinot Meunier, 2 hectares of
Chardonnay and 2 hectares of Pinot Noir. The House of Moutardier produces and
sells around 240,000 bottles of Champagne a year.

Dominant mouth-watering scents of red
fruits at the first nose (redcurrant, raspberry, strawberry, ...), an alluring
expression of 85% Pinot Meunier, swiftly leaving room for a more complex and
elegant aromatic spectrum, consisting of delicious aromas of candied citrus
fruit (lemon, grapefruit), white flowers, almond and hazelnut thanks to the 15%
Chardonnay in this Cuvée

Next, the nose reveals delicate buttery
notes, of brioche, almost toasted an expression of the good maturity of this
Champagne, obtained by ageing sur lattes for 18 months and carefully
controlled by William Saxby-Moutardier, Chef de Cave of the Champagne
House of Moutardier.
Palate

Perfect balance between mineral freshness
and creamy roundness, obtained thanks to a carefully measured dosage, with 8g/L
of sugar added with the liqueur d’expédition, after disgorgement

The citrus fruits and red fruits already perceived
at the nose are revealed together with delicious hints of spices (pepper, liquorice)

Good length on the palate
This Cuvée Carte d’Or by the Champagne
House of Moutardier delivers a beautiful image of the Surmelin Valley, an area
particularly preferred by the Pinot Meunier.
Drink as an aperitif or to
accompany meals among friends, with seafood, or, why not, with pan-fried foie
gras in a spiced bread crust.
