Handed down from father to son for over 5 generations, the Champagne House of Lahaye-Berthelot cultivates three champenois varietals on almost 3 hectares of vineyard, lying in the beautiful clayey-calcareous terroir in the southern hills of Epernay (Vaudancourt, Courcourt, Monthelon and Mancy). The estate produces and sells around 30,000 bottles of Champagne, following the traditional method.

Appearance :
- Pale gold with green glints
- Fine perlage
- Persistent bead of bubbles
- Limpid and bright
Nose :
- Tempting and captivating, expressed by the
careful blending of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir
- At first nose it is elegant, with subtle notes of citrus fruits (lemon, grapefruit), raisin and red fruits (cherry and plum), then revealing a rich variety of candied fruits (apricot, peach, mirabelle plum, fig, apple, pear) together with honey and caramel.
Palate :
- A delicate attack, almost enveloping, a sign of
the maturity obtained by ageing the bottles sur lattes for 24
months, bolstered by the malolactic fermentation and generous dosage, with
10g/L of sugar added after disgorgement
- The honey, mirabelle plum and red fruits already
perceived at the nose are evident
- Deliciously acidulous finish, thanks to a careful
selection of the first free run wine (cuvée), during pressing of
the Pinot Noir and invigorated by a slight hint of pepper.
- Lengthy persistence on the plate
Great value
for money, this Cuvée de Réserve from the Champagne House of Lahaye-Berthelot
rewards all the expertise of Lionel Lahaye in winemaking and traditional blending.
An
ideal aperitif, accompanied by pan-seared foie gras canapés, but also
during a meal with a warm goat’s cheese salad.
