Aspect :
·
Pale
gold.
·
Very
fine bubbles.
·
Evanescent
bead of foam.
Nose :
·
Intense, immediately taking us
into an endless and sensual universe.
·
Rare maturity, obtained by 11
years of ageing on laths of the bottles before disgorgement, with captivating
fragrances of honey evolving towards chocolate and roasted coffee.

The Chardonnay (65%) then
offers its elegant scents of citrus fruits and white fruits which interlaces
some generous fragrances of candied red and black fruits, coupled with delicate
spices, signatures of the Pinot Noir (35%).
Palate :

Lively and dense
opening, thanks to the inspired selection of the purest juices (cœur de cuvée) during the soft pressing

The mouth then becomes sensual and balanced, enhanced
by the soft minerality.

Warm and enveloping finish, underlined by the spices.
·
Exceptional length on the palate.
With this Cuvée Louis 2002, Thierry Gasco, Chef de Cave of the Champagne House Pommery, was able to select meticulously the best grapes from the historical Grands Crus of the House (Avize and Cramant for the Chardonnay and Aÿ for the Pinot Noir), to sign an unforgettable interpretation of the great year 2002.
Ideal to
accompany intimate moments, from aperitif to meal, with a veal chop cooked with
truffle juice, for example.
True to the visionary and generous
commitment of Mrs Pommery, in 1858, and then of her daughter Louise, the Champagne
House Pommery continues its work of creator of Champagnes. A wine estate of 50
hectares in the heart of Reims and 18 km of cellars tunnelled out of chalk
allow the Champagne House, integrated into the Vranken-Pommery group in 2002,
to perpetuate its inimitable style marketing around 5.5 million of bottles of
Champagnes each year.
