Champagne mythique
Numbered bottle, luxurious, decorated with a brushed aluminium golden label. Disgorgement date indicated on the back label.
Aspect :
·
Solar.
·
Refined bubbles.
·
Elegant bead of bubbles.
Nose
:
·
Captivating
and sensual.
·
The nose reveals an endless
aromatic spectrum, with red and black fruits, spices, and some touching
spirituous notes, signatures of the majority of Pinot Noir (two thirds),
intertwined with white fruits and citrus fruits, expressions of the Chardonnay
(one third).
·
Well defined maturity, with
fragrances of subtly roasted caramel, allowed by 10 years of ageing on laths of
the bottles, before disgorgement.
Palate :
·
Pure attack due to the rigorous selection of the first
juices (cuvée) during the pressing of
the grapes, reinforced by the timely stop of the malolactic fermentation of the
base wines and by the absence of dosage, at disgorgement.
·
The mouth then becomes sensual and dense, pleasure
reinforced by the ageing of the base wines on lees for 8 months.
·
Dense and tasty finish.
· Remarkable length on the palate.
With this Cuvée Diane Claire Grand Cru Brut Nature,
homage to two women of the family and jewel of the Penet-Chardonnet range
exclusively coming from the family wine estate, Christian Penet, and now his
son Alexandre, oenologist of the House, were able to select their best plots in
2002, to compose an unforgettable interpretation of the Grand Cru of Verzenay.
To taste from aperitif to meal, to accompany a turbot
fillet fried in vadouvan butter, for example.
Wine growers in Verzy, the Penet and Chardonnet
families have been cultivating the vine for more than 4 centuries. A vineyard
of 6 hectares in Grand Cru, carefully cultivated, planted with Pinot Noir (two
thirds) and with Chardonnay (one third), an accurate and gentle oenology,
without clarification nor filtration nor cooling, with parceled vinifications
in small vats or in barrels and very low dosages, give birth to Champagnes with
a rare purity, variations inspired around the terroirs of Verzy and Verzenay.
