Guide VERON des Champagnes 2015(approximately 23 euros)
Set up in Noe-les-Mallets, in the heart of the cote des Bar, for 3 generations, the champagne Louise Brison cultivates with care its 13 hectare vineyard, ideally exposed south-east at an altitude of 320 m, planted with chardonnay and pinot noir, in the greatest respect of the environment. 35 000 bottles of quality champagnes are elaborated and marketed every year since 1991.
Poetic name. Traditional and luxurious presentation.
Visual
aspect :
- Intense golden.
- Very fine bubbles.
- Discreet bead, persistent.
Nose :
- Complex and moving, maybe thanks to the long
delays between disgorgement and dispatch of the bottles.
- Sometimes marked by the chardonnay, exclusive
grape variety of the vintage, with aromas of citrus fruits, apple, pear
and white flowers.
- Then carried by warm scents of croissant, honey,
evolving towards roasted coffee, expressions of the great maturity of the
champagne, result of 6 years of ageing on laths.
- Discreet and harmonious wooden scent with a delicate aroma of vanilla, obtained by the vinification and the ageing of the base wines in oak vats ( a third of those are brand new), perfectly mastered.
Palate :
- Dense and lively attack, certainly strengthened
by the judicious blockage of the malolactic fermentation on a part of the
base wines.
- The palate then opens up progressively, carried
by a beautiful maturity, footprint of the Noe-lesMallets soils exposed
south-east
- We find again the citrus fruits, apple but also
the wooden scent mentioned in the nose.
- Finish carried by delicate spices.
- Very great length in the mouth.
With this Cuvee Tendresse Blanc de Blancs Millesime 2005, Delphine Brulez, oenologist for Champagne Louise Brison, gives us a touching interpretation og the great year 2005.
To enjoy during the aperitif or during a meal, to accompany a salmon marinated with pepper and citrus fruits, for example.
