Fourth generation of wine grower settled in Passy-sur-Marne, the champagne Lequeux-Mercier cultivate with care its 7 hectare vineyard, planted on the soils of Chateau-Thierry (1.5 hectares) but mainly in Passy-sur-Marne, composed of 69% of pinot meunier, 17% of chardonnay and 14% of pinot noir, to elaborate and market 35 000 bottles of quality champagnes each year.
Luxurious and polished presentation.
Visual
aspect :
- Golden, luminous.
- Very fine bubbles.
- Delicate bead.
Nose :
- Captivating, it transports us towards exquisite
aromatic variations.
- Accomplished maturity, result of 10 long years of
ageing on laths with autolysis of the yeasts of the prise de mousse, with
warm scents of caramel, honey and beeswax, evolving towards chocolate and
roasted coffee.
- Scents of crystallised red fruits (strawberry,
cherry and blueberry) and delicate spices, signatures of the pinot noir.
- Aromas of apple and pear compotes, as well as notes of walnuts, almond, apricot and raisins, stamp of the chardonnay (50%).
Palate :
- Ample and generous attack, expression of the
grapes harvested when really ripe over 9 plots exposed south and
south-west, rigorously selected on the hillside of Passy-sur-Marne.
- The mouth then reveals a remarkable presence,
vinous and carnal, permitted by a just dosage with 6.5g/L of added sugar
during disgorgement and by the realisation of the malolactic fermentation
on the base wines.
- We find again the red fruits mentioned in the
nose, carried by a smooth effervescence.
- Fabulous length in the mouth.
