Guide VERON des Champagnes 2015
(approximately 16 euros)
Fifth generation of wine grower in Verzy, in the mountain of Reims, the Champagne Burlot-Nahé relies on its 5.3-hectare vineyard, mainly based in Verzy, to elaborate and market around 10,000 bottles of Champagne with character per year.
Sober and luxurious presentation.
Visual aspect :
·
Golden, luminous.
·
Dynamic effervescence.
·
Fine bubbles.
· Discreet and persistent bead.
Nose :
·
Intense and harmonious.
·
Warm aromas of peach and apricot, as well as delightful
notes of citrus fruits, apple, white flowers and fresh mint, signatures of
Chardonnay (20%).
·
Fragances of red fruits (cherry, blackcurrant and raspberry)
and delicate spices, thanks to the dominance of Pinot Noir (80%).
· Later, the Champagne reveals its maturity, result of 5 years of ageing on laths before disgorgement, with soft nuances of honey, brioche and a hint of butter.
Palate :
·
Lively and tonic attack, thanks to the rigorous selection of
the first juices (cuvee), purest, to the pressing of the grapes, culminating
towards a remarkable and balanced intensity, carried by a dense minerality.
·
Comforting and generous voluptuousness, thanks to the
judicious realisation of the malolactic fermentation of the base wines,
sustained by an smooth effervescence.
·
We find again the red and yellow fruits of the nose.
·
Delightfully tangy and spicy finish.
· Great length in the mouth.
With this confidential Cuvee Louis Armand (500 bottles a year) of good value for money, created in homage to Louis Armand, first producer of the estate, Sylvain Burlot, his grand-son, knew how to choose its most beautiful grapes in 2006, and use a precise oenology to give us a particularly successful Champagne, inspired interpretation of the soil of Verzy.
To enjoy during the aperitif with salmond verrines, or during a meal with friends, to accompany a roasted back of bass, for example.
