Mythical Champagne
Numbered bottle, sober and luxurious.
Aspect:
Pale
gold.
Fine
bubbles.

bead of foam.
Nose:
Touching.
The
delicious aromas of white and yellow fruits, white flowers, hazelnut and
delicate spices, gently interlace scents of red and black fruits and exotic
fruits, enhanced by an iodized breath.
Later,
the perfumes of honey and pastries join in, expressions of the maturity of the cuvée obtained by a double ageing on
laths before disgorgement: initially in magnums at a pressure of three bar for
the reserve wines, then in bottles (4 years) with corks.
Palate:
Pure
attack due to the rigorous selection of the very first juices (first part of
the cuvée) during the pressing of the
grapes.
The
mouth then reveals its fullness with a sensual effervescence, thanks to the low
pressure (5 bar instead of 6) obtained during the prise de mousse.
Tasty
finish.
Great
length on the palate.
With
this cuvée Les Houtrants Complantés Brut Nature, Jean-Baptiste Geoffroy tried
his hardest to eliminate the technical aspects, with 5 varietals (Pinot Noir,
Meunier, Chardonnay, Arbanne and Petit Meslier), perpetual multi-vintage
blending (each year since 2008), natural yeasts from the terroir, no malolactic fermentation, no filtration and dosage, to
better reveal the vital force of the terroir
of the plot of 40 ares Les Houtrants, planted in 2003 and worked with a horse
in Cumières.
Ideal
to accompany a seafood platter, for example.
Settled
in Aÿ, the Champagne House René Geoffroy perpetuates the champenois traditions
since the 17th century. An endless quest for the quality of grapes,
from a vineyard of 14 hectares mainly located in Cumières, in the Marne Valley,
cultivated with a real desire to reduce the environmental footprint and to
respect the soils, with natural ploughing and cover planting, allows to compose
with gentleness highly expressive Champagnes.
