Guide VERON des Champagnes 2016
(around 32 euros per bottle)
Sober and careful presentation, in the emblematic bottle of the Club Trésors.
Aspect :
·
White gold, with reserved
green glints.
·
Fine and festive bubbles.
·
Delicate bead of bubbles.
Nose :
·
Ample,
generous and complex.
·
Radiant aromas of apple, pear,
citrus fruits, apricot and grape, enhanced by touches of almond and hazelnut,
signatures of the majority of Chardonnay (60%).
·
Later, the Pinot Noir (40%) is
revealed, with a farandole of red and black fruits, underlined by the spices.
·
Patience is rewarded by the
appearance of fragrances of honey, beeswax and caramel, evolving towards
roasted coffee, expressions of the great maturity of the cuvée obtained by the ageing on laths of the bottles for 4 years,
before disgorgement.
Palate :
·
Unlikely balance between elegant freshness, reinforced
by the rigorous selection the first juices (cuvée),
during the pressing of the grapes, and the classy power of the Pinot Noir.
·
The mouth then becomes caressing and deep, perhaps
thanks to the judicious fulfillment of the malolactic fermentation of the base
wines.
·
Tasty finish.
·
Great length on the palate.
With this Spécial Club Trésors 2009, Sylvère Massin, Chef de Cave, and his son Cédric, were able to select the best grapes from the old plots deeply rooted of the wine estate, to sign a touching interpretation of the terroir of Ville-sur-Arce.
To taste
during meals, to accompany an oven dish of lobster in the armorican way, for
example.
Fourth generation of wine grower,
settled in Ville-sur-Arce in the Côte des Bar, the Champagne House Rémy Massin
et Fils, founded in 1865, passionately cultivates its vineyard of 22 hectares.
A viticulture firmly focused on reducing the environmental footprint, without
herbicide, and a meticulous oenology give birth to 150,000 bottles of
Champagnes with personality each year, marketed under the brand created in
1974.
