Champagne Pierre Leboeuf – Brut Grand Cru

Guide VERON des Champagnes 2016

(around 17 euros per bottle)

Careful and traditional presentation.

Aspect :

·        White gold.
·        Fine bubbles.
·        Generous bead of foam.

Nose :

·        Intense and radiant.
·        Initially marked by the Pinot Noir (50%) carefully selected in the locality Chauffour, in Aÿ, with some exciting scents of nice ripe red and black fruits (blueberry, blackberry, blackcurrant and raspberry), coupled with a touch of spices.
·        The Chardonnay (50%), also chosen in the terroir of Aÿ (locality La Croix), then reveals its whole finesse and its elegance, with fragrances of citrus fruits, mint, apple and pear compote, barely iodized.
·        Patience is rewarded bu the appearance of aromas of honey and beeswax, moving towards toasted exhalations, translations of the maturity of the cuvée obtained by 2 years of ageing on laths of the bottles before disgorgement, with autolysis of the prise de mousse yeasts.

Palate :

·        Neat and life-giving opening, definitely allowed by the careful selection of the first juices (cuvée), purer, during the pressing of the grapes.
·        The mouth then becomes dense, tasty and deliciously mineral, enhanced by the tonic effervescence.
·        Warm finish, punctuated by spices.
·        Respectable length on the palate.

With this Brut Grand Cru, Vincent Leboeuf, its producer, was able to put his expertise in the service of the year 2012 to offer us a Champagne with personality, produced without filtration but with a soft clarification with fish glue.

Champagne for all occasions, it will accompany with dignity a rossini beef tenderloin, for example.

Located in Aÿ, historic Grand Cru of Champagne, the Champagne House Pierre Leboeuf cultivates with passion its vineyard of 4.70 hectares, planted with Pinot Noir (80%) and Chardonnay (20%), spread of the beautiful terroirs of Aÿ, Avenay-Val-d’Or and Mutigny. A rigorous selection of the best grapes harvested by hand and a gentle and inspired oenology give birth to around 25,000 bottles of traditional Champagnes each year.
