Guide VERON des Champagnes 2017
(around
37 euros per bottle)
Bright and sober presentation.
Aspect:
White
gold, brilliant.
Refined
bubbles.
Elegant
bead of foam.
Nose:
Sublime,
it takes us into its sophisticated aromatic universe, between finesse and
generosity.
Aromas
of honey, evolving towards delicate roasted hints, barely spicy, expressions of
the great maturity of the cuvée
obtained by 5 years of patient ageing on laths of the bottles, in the deep
cellars of the House.
The nose then comes to life with a iodized and mentholated life-giving
breath, with scents of apple and pear compote, candied citrus fruits and white
flowers, punctuated by gentle spirituous touches, signatures of the Chardonnay
mainly harvested in the Premiers Crus and Grands Crus of the Côte des Blancs
(Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Avize, Chouilly, Vertus, etc.).
Palate:
Pure
attack, highlighted by the vibrant minerality of chalky soils.
The
mouth becomes deep and balanced thanks to an adjusted dosage, with less than 10
g/L of sugar added at disgorgement, helped by a silky effervescence.
Dense
and sensual finish, supported by a delicious salinity.
Impressive
length on the palate.
For this Blanc de
Blancs emblematic of the brand, Laurent Fresnet, cellar master of the Champagne
House Henriot since 2006, was able to make the perfect blending of the noble terroirs, with 30% of the reserve wines,
to offer us a touching gastronomic Champagne.
To
taste from aperitif to meal, with a lobster from the Cotentin peninsula with
white peach, for example.
Since
its foundation in 1808, eight generations have succeeded each other to
perpetuate the independence family traditions of the Champagne House Henriot.
Rigorously selected grapes, mainly in the 17 Grands Crus and 42 Premiers Crus
of the Côte des Blancs and the Mountain of Reims, in the 30 hectares of
vineyard of the House or in faithful wine growers’ vineyard, are vinified with
talent to compose Champagnes of excellence, variations inspired around
Chardonnay and Pinot noir, in the pure Henriot style.
