Guide VERON des Champagnes 2017
(around
18 euros per bottle)
Original and luxurious bottle.
Aspect:
Pale
gold, radiant.
Refined
bubbles.
Delicate
bead of bubbles.
Nose:
Radiant,
it takes us into a sensual and endless aromatic harmony, source of intense pleasure.
Scents
of apple and pear, citrus fruits, apricot and raisin, underlined by a
mentholated breath, signatures of the Chardonnay, exclusive varietal of the cuvée, harvested by hand in 2010.
Perfumes
of honey and pastries, expressions of the well defined maturity of the
Champagne obtained by 5 years of ageing on laths of the bottles, before
disgorgement.
Palate:
Tonic
attack, obtained by the rigorous selection of the very first juices (tête de cuvée), during the soft pressing
of the grapes.
The
mouth becomes caress, close to the fullness, thanks to the judicious
fulfillment of the malolactic fermentation of the base wines and to the
adjusted dosage with 9 g/L of sugar added at disgorgement, enhanced by the
tasty minerality of the old plots of the wine estate, in Barbonne-Fayel: “les
Boeufs” (50 years old) and “les Grands Macrets” (45 years old).
Delicious
finish.
Great
length on the palate.
For
this cuvée Marguerite de la Renaudière, Christophe Richomme and Laurent Collet,
cellar masters of the Champagne House G. Richomme, offer us the quintessence of
the Chardonnay, touching interpretation of the beautiful terroir of Barbonne-Fayel and vibrant homage to Marguerite Renaud,
Christophe and Florence’s mother, ennobled for the occasion.
To
taste from aperitif to meal, with a sea bass and crunchy buckwheat, for
example.
Founded in 1945 by
Georges Richomme, the Champagne House G. Richomme continues with dynamism its
quest of excellence under the leadership of the third generation, with Christophe
Richomme, his sister Florence Collet and her husband Laurent, since 2008. A
vineyard of 11 hectares spread over the Crus of Barbonne-Fayel (88%) and
Bar-sur-Seine (12%), cultivated in the greatest respect of the environment,
allows to produce around 50,000 bottles of quality Champagnes each year.
