Guide VERON des Champagnes 2017
(around
22 euros per bottle)
Original, festive and sober presentation.
Aspect:
Ruby
red colour, intense and bright.
Particularly
fine bubbles.
Generous
bead of bubbles.
Nose:
Intense
and joyful, definitely reinforced by the respect of long periods between
disgorgement and marketing (6 months).
Joyful
aromatic farandole composed of scents of red and black fruits (cherry,
strawberry, raspberry, blueberry and blackberry), gently mingled with hints of
delicate spices, signatures of the Meunier, exclusive varietal of the cuvée.
Later,
delicate notes of exotic fruits mingles with warm perfumes of honey and
pastries, definitely the expression of the maturity of the cuvée obtained by 30 months of ageing on laths of the bottles
before disgorgement.
Palate:
Balanced
opening, highlighted by the delicious liveliness obtained by the rigorous
selection of the first juices (cuvée)
during the pressing of the grapes reserved for the production of the white base
wines.
The
mouth is revealed deep and warm, thanks to the fulfillment of the malolactic
fermentation of the red and white base wines and to the addition of 7 g/L of
sugar at dosage.
Tasty
finish, underlined by the lively effervescence.
Good
length on the palate.
To create this remarkable Brut Vignoble Rosé, Bruno de Villepin was
able to blend with accuracy, in 2013, 50% of red wines from a controlled
vinification of his best grapes, with a 5 days maceration at low temperature
(18°C), and 50% of white wines.
To taste during meals, with a duck breast from Challans and aniseed
spices, for example.
Tenth
generation of wine growers, Bruno de Villepin, assisted by his wife, cultivates
with care his vineyard of 2.12 hectares since 1999, in the greatest respect of
the environment. Between parcelled vinifications and ageing of the base wines
in vats on fine lees for a year, he put his oenological creativity and dynamism
in the service of a range of Champagnes with personality, produced since 2008
and marketed since 2013.
