Aspect:
Dense
gold.
Bubbles
of a rare finesse.
Elegant
corolla of scattered bubbles.
Nose:
Initially
impenetrable, it is revealed with a mentholated breath obtained by the
vinification and the ageing of the base wines in casks and by a long period
between disgorgement and marketing.
The
Chardonnay (50%), selected in the Grands Crus of the Côte des Blancs (Le
Mesnil-sur-Oger), unveils its scents of citrus fruits and white flowers, on a
bed of candied red and black fruits punctuated by subtle spices, signatures of
the Pinot Noir (25%) and the Meunier (25%), chosen in the south exposed
hillsides of Reuil, Villers-sous-Châtillon and Binson-et-Orquigny, in the Marne
Valley.
Palate:
Deep
and balanced opening, highlighted by a captivating tension, pure vital force,
obtained by the selection the first juices (coeur
de cuvée) during the pressing of the grapes.
The mouth then reveals an astonishing minerality, underlined by the
uncompromising ancestral vinification, without chaptalization, nor malolactic
fermentation, nor dosage.
Never-ending, sensual finish.

Founded
in 1996, the Champagne House Collard-Picard was born from the union of Caroline
Picard, from the Côte des Blancs and Olivier Collard, from the Marne Valley.
The historical complementarity of the terroirs
and varietals of their vineyard of 16 hectares, cultivated with a real
desire to reduce the environmental footprint and to respect the natural
rhythms, and a traditional and perfectionist oenology, give birth to a
successful range of exceptional Champagnes.
