Guide VERON des Champagnes 2018
(around 52
euros per bottle)
Festive and luxurious
bottle.
Aspect:
Pinkish, lively and
bright, characteristic sign of the controlled blending of 85% of white base
wine with 15% of red wine from the long Burgundy-style maceration (around 9
days) of the pinots noirs from the Mountain of Reims and Les Riceys, in the
Côte des Bar.
Fine and tonic bubbles.
Eminent bead of foam,
regular and persistent.
Nose:
Radiant and sensual.
Farandole of red and
black fruits, mischievous, joyful signature of the majority of Pinot Noir (70%)
from the best terroirs of Champagne,
highlighted by the sophisticated elegance of the Chardonnay (30%) with its
touches of citrus fruits, apple, pear, apricot and grape.
Palate:
Life-giving attack,
driven by a delicious mineral tension.
The mouth is revealed
douce and creamy, almost structured, definitely thanks to the judicious
fulfilment of the malolactic fermentation of the base wines and to the generous
dosage, with 9 g/L of sugar added at disgorgement.
We find again the red
and black fruits in the finish, luxuriant, underlined by the silky
effervescence.
Very great length on the
palate.
Loïc Dupont, cellar
master of the Champagne House Taittinger, was able to accompany with
sensitivity the osmosis of the terroirs,
varietals and of the red and white wines, to offer us this elegant and heady
Prestige Rosé, in the pure Taittinger style.
Champagne for all
occasions, from aperitif to the end of the evening, with Morello cherries and
candied black cherries, for example.
Pierre-Emmanuel
Taittinger joined the eponymous House in 1976, before buying it in 2006 to perpetuate
its human values and spirit of conquest, now surrounded by his daughter
Vitalie, artistic director and muse of the brand, and by his eldest son Clovis,
export director. A vineyard of 288 hectares, cultivated with the real desire to
reduce the environmental footprint, completed by a carefully selected supply,
gives birth to a collection of exceptional Champagnes.
