Guide VERON des Champagnes 2018
(around 31
euros per bottle)
Neat bottle, draped in a jewellery showing a musical score in
the black beam of the provided flashlight.
Aspect:
Golden and bright.
Fine and scattered
bubbles, spread like musical notes around the flute, invitations to keep your
ears open and let yourself being rocked by the sensual tempo of the
effervescence.
Nose:
Intense and radiant.
Crescendo of aromas
of red and black fruits, with a tremolo of subtle spices, powerful hymn to the
majority of Pinot Noir (two thirds).
Later, the Chardonnay
(one third) expresses its delicate notes of apple, pear, citrus fruits, apricot
and quince jam.
La maturity of the
Champagne is unveiled at last, perfect blend between fragrances of honey and
pastries, result of the long ageing on laths of the bottles, with autolysis of
the prise de mousse yeasts, before
disgorgement.
Palate:
Sensual balance at
the opening.
The citrus fruits
already perceived at the nose gently embrace the red fruits in an endless
symphony, touching caress driven by the joyful minerality.
Deliciously acidulous
finish, highlighted by the dynamic effervescence.
Great length on the
palate.
For this Brut
Percussion Premier Cru, Etienne Goutorbe, its producer, was able to orchestrate
with talent, the blending of premiers and Grands Crus (Aÿ, Mareuil-sur-Aÿ and
Bisseuil) to compose a Champagne with touching harmonics, in the pure Goutorbe
style.
To taste during your
gourmet dinners or whenever a musical and festive opportunity arises.
Driven by René
Goutorbe, inspired and visionary wine grower, now joined by Etienne as well as
Bertrand, his two sons, fourth generation, the Champagne House Henri Goutorbe
established in Aÿ has been perpetuating with passion the champenois traditions. Between selection of the best grape vines
thanks to the historical activity of vine nursery and to a warm welcome at the
three stars Castel Jeanson hotel, the House is based on its vineyard of 22
hectares to offer us Champagnes with personality.
