the soil is agriculturally prepared will better reveal the terroir from which it originated, since this practice forces the
vine to develop a deeper root system. Preparing the soil also avoids the use of
herbicides. The wine grower can choose to
prepare his wine-growing land and intensify the expression of the terroir in his
champagne.
