(around
30 euros per bottle)
Original and luxurious bottle.
Aspect:
Pale gold.
Delicate bubbles.
Generous tears.
Nose:
Radiant aromatic whirl.
The majority of Chardonnay with 75%,
initially stands out with touches of apple, pear, citrus fruits and white
flowers.
Later, the Pinot Noir (25%) gently
establishes itself with joyfuls fragrances of red and black fruits.
The maturity is revealed at last, with its
notes warms of cocoa and roasted coffee, result of 8 years of ageing on laths
of the bottles, before riddling and disgorgement.
Palate:
Pure attack, obtained by the selection of the
very first juices (tête de cuvée)
during the soft pressing of the grapes.
Creamy roundness, reinforced by the
fulfilment of the malolactic fermentation of the base wines and by the
controlled dosage, with 9 g/L of sugar added at disgorgement.
Balanced finish, underlined by the minerality.
Great length on the palate.
With this Cuvée Marguerite Millésime 2008,
Franck Vollereaux offers us a touching interpretation of the best plots of the
vineyard of the house, touching homage to his grandmother. His œnological
inspiration enabled him to dare to decline the cuvée in a very restricted version, aged under the sea for a year,
at a depth of 60 metres, near Ouessant Island, real return to the roots. The
bottle bears the characteristic sign of the ocean. The signature of the
exceptional terroirs are thus
enhanced and the personality of the Champagne house transcended by a particular
vitality, heady and iodized: unforgettable.
Ideal partner for fishes and
seafood, from aperitif to meal.
Settled in Pierry since 1805, the Champagne house
Vollereaux produced its first bottles in 1923. Now Franck Vollereaux, sixth
generation of wine growers, selects with care the best grapes of its 42
hectares vineyard, completed by a supply selected in faithful wine growers’
vineyard, to compose each year around 400,000 bottles of a range of highly
expressive champagnes.
