Guide VERON des Champagnes 2020
(around
53 euros per bottle)
Numbered bottle and traditional wire with hemp string.
Aspect:
Bright
colour and copper-coloured.
Fine
bubbles.
Fine
bead of bubbles, persistent.
Nose:
Sensual
and radiant compilation of fragrances of jammy red and black fruits, signature
of the majority of black varietals (80% of Pinot Noir and Meunier) vinified
with pellicular maceration, highlighted by touches of citrus fruits and exotic
fruits, outstanding characteristic signs of the Chardonnay (20%).
The
maturity of the champagne gently establishes itself with scents of honey and
caramel, result of 3 years of ageing of the bottles, before riddling and
disgorgement.
Palate:
Joyful
vitality at the opening, reinforced by the minimalist dosage with 4 g/L of
sugar added at disgorgement and supported by the touching minerality of the
selected terroirs with the localities
« Georgette » in Romery and « Pitance et Mère vignes » in
Fleury-la-Rivière in the Marne Valley.
Remarkable
presence, deep and powerful, underlined by delicate woody notes, reflecting the
vinification and the ageing of the Chardonnay base wines in oak barrels.
Dynamic
finish, subtly spicy.
Endless
length on the palate.
