Aspect:
Golden
and brilliant.

Nose:
Radiant
generosity thanks to the long period between disgorgement and shipment, with a
6 to 10 months storage in the cellar of the house dug in 1795.
Outstanding
aromas of white fruits, citrus fruits, almond and hazelnut, highlighted by a
life-giving breath, iodized and mentholated, signatures of the Chardonnay
harvested by hand in 2012 in the Grands Crus of the Côte des Blancs.
Later,
generous scents of honey and pastries delight us, results of 5 years of patient
ageing on laths of the bottles, before riddling and disgorgement.
Palate:
Joyful
vitality at the opening, thanks to the rigorous selection of the first juices (cuvée) purer during the soft pressing of
the grapes, driven by a bright minerality, perhaps the one of the chalk of the
Grand Cru of Oger.
The
mouth becomes gourmet, ample and creamy, reinforced by the dosage with 8 g/L
of sugar added at disgorgement.
Delicious
bitterness at the end, supported by a creamy effervescence.
Great
length on the palate.
With this cuvée
Mille Or 2012 with a very good value for money, Laurent Klepka offers us a
remarkable interpretation of the Chardonnay with the elegance enhanced by its
noble origins.
To taste from aperitif to meal, with a
tenderloin, dried fruits and acacia honey, for example.
Laurent Klepka joined the family wine estate
in 1993, after a solid training in the Lycée Viticole de la Champagne and a
6 months internship in the United States. Wine grower and and Chief
Executive Officer of the Grappes d’Or cooperative in Oger, driven by the real
desire to reduce the environmental footprint with the goal of being certified High
Environmental Value in the near future, he cultivates with his wife the
5.40 hectares vineyard mainly planted with Chardonnay in the Côte des
Blancs, to compose each year around 15,000 bottles of highly expressive
champagnes.
